Pruce Newman has become the latest company to achieve the impressive feat of fulfilling its pledge to the EACH nook business network.

The nook business network exists to support EACH’s nook appeal. It sees companies committing to raise either £10,000, £15,000 or £25,000 in exchange for various benefits and support.

We signed up to raise £10,000 in March 2017, but in fact, we raised 150% of our target and recently presented EACH with a cheque for £15,000.

We raised that fantastic amount by taking part in and supporting a variety of fun activities, including last year’s Barnard Charity Golf Day at Bawburgh Golf Club, EACH’s Norwich abseil and nook ball, and our own endurance go-karting event.

Those efforts were boosted by office collections, bake sales and a Christmas jumper day, and culminated in our MD Graham Newman running the London Marathon in April – and raising over £6,000 in the process.

Graham, pictured above presenting the cheque to Sophie Mayes of EACH, said:

“Pruce Newman are long-time supporters of EACH, as well as other local and regional charities. Over the last year we made the decision to focus our fundraising entirely on EACH, and I’m delighted with the contribution that we’ve been able to make to the EACH nook appeal.

“We couldn’t have achieved this without the backing of our staff, our suppliers and our customers, all of whom have been great sports, and who responded to every challenge that we could conceive. They have freely donated their time, resources and money to our campaign, and I’d like to thank all of them for their incredible support and generosity”

The nook appeal is a campaign to raise £10 million so that EACH can transform children’s palliative care for Norfolk, mainly by building a new hospice just south of Norwich in Framingham Earl.

Sophie Mayes, EACH Norfolk Corporate Fundraiser, said:

“Pruce Newman took so well to fulfilling their nook business network pledge and clearly had a lot of fun! The final amount raised is absolutely brilliant and we couldn’t be more grateful.

“Building of the nook started in November when the appeal hit £7 million. We’re now nearly at £8 million and it’s vital we continue receiving support from the Norfolk business community in the final stretch.”
