A HISTORY OF EVOLUTION

For over 50 years, we have successfully delivered high quality projects for clients across the South and East of England, specialising in the fabrication and installation of pipework in a range of steel, stainless steel, plastics and copper.

Since our foundation, we have consistently grown our business, developing our services and skills to meet the changing needs of our clients and to continually exceed their expectations. In addition to our core pipework business, we provide steelwork design, fabrication and installation services; testing and commissioning of gas and oil piping; specialist fabrication services for the offshore energy sector; project management for major process plant installation and the fabrication of self-contained process plants.

Today, we work with some of the most innovative organisations in the world to deliver fluid transfer solutions in a variety of environments.

FABRICATION

Whatever your fabrication requirements may be, we can deliver a solution. The heart of our business is welding, and our Welding Quality Management System is accredited to ISO3834. As well as providing a wide range of piping solutions, we also fabricate CE-marked steel structures to EN1090 Execution Class III.

Our vast library of welding procedures are approved by Lloyd’s register to ASME-IX, BS EN288-3 and EN ISO15614 using a range of techniques including Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in a range of positions. Our experienced team of welders are qualified to ASME-IX, BS EN287-1 and EN ISO9606, and are supported by our own CSWIP Welding Inspectors and European and International Welding Engineer.

Having this expertise in house means that we are able to develop weld procedures for specific applications, and we have expertise in the following materials:

  • Carbon Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Duplex and Superduplex Stainless Steels
  • Hastelloy and other exotic metals

Our Head Office in Wymondham, Norfolk, is also home to our 9000 ft2 fabrication facility, fully equipped with overhead cranes, end cutting and preparation equipment, hydraulic guillotines and welding bays as well as associated storage and lay-down areas. Our wide range of facilities enable us to fabricate pipe spools and vessels up to 12.0m long and weighing up to 5 tonnes, with a similar capacity for steelwork projects.

INSTALLATION

As well as our off-site fabrication facilities, we have the ability to fabricate on site if that’s appropriate to your project, and we have the skills, experience and equipment to install anything that we make. Our expert site teams comprise pipe fitters, welders, steel erectors, slingers, multi-skilled operatives and dedicated supervisors, directly employed by Pruce Newman. We work mainly in the South and East of England, and our local workforce enables flexible delivery to meet your programme.

Our seasoned Project Management team are experienced in a wide variety of industries and technologies, and we work on some of the most sensitive sites in the UK, including Top-Tier COMAH and power generation sites. Wherever we’re working, our attention to detail and our commitment to safety remains consistent, ensuring the success of your project.

In addition to installing our own pipe and steelwork, we can take care of mechanical plant installations, including testing and commissioning if required, and can manage complex lifts for client-supplied plant and materials using our own Appointed Persons.

MAINTENANCE

At Pruce Newman, we understand that maintaining existing items of plant is as important as installing new ones. Our clients have wide-ranging maintenance needs, from scheduled works during planned shut-downs, to responsive emergency call-outs, and we are able to supply skilled and experienced teams of professionals to undertake maintenance work with as little down time as possible.

We can also provide on-site maintenance teams, undertaking both pro-active and reactive maintenance on client sites 365 days of the year if required, covering a variety of trades and disciplines to ensure that production levels remain at optimum levels.

Outsourcing maintenance operations can provide significant cost reductions and greater levels of operational flexibility when compared to employing your own maintenance teams or managing groups of subcontractors who may not have worked together before. DESIGN

All projects start with a good idea, and at Pruce Newman we have the skills to transform that idea into reality. Our experienced team can work with you to develop your concepts into full designs, whether we’re working with a clean sheet of paper or planning alterations to complex existing infrastructure. Using skills and experience gained from over four decades of delivering fluid handling and structural steel solutions, combined with the latest advances in modelling and simulation technologies, we can design piping, support and steel structures for a wide range of industries, such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Process Manufacturing and Renewable Energy.

Our team are able to develop mechanical specifications to meet the requirements of your project, and can provide full engineering calculations and reports if required. We also provide:

  • Isometric drawings for piping
  • General Arrangement, Detailed Engineering and Full Fabrication drawings
  • Design and stress calculations for pipe systems and supports
  • Design calculations for bespoke steel structures such as pipe bridges and plant steelwork
  • Pipe stress analysis
  • Pressure vessel and tank analysis

We take all variables into account, and can conduct detailed site surveys using a mix of traditional surveying methods and the latest 3D modelling equipment to be sure that we’ve considered your project from all angles before moving forward to develop feasible solutions designed for efficient fabrication and safe installation.
