Pruce Newman has recently been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace. Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third-party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Pruce Newman is principally involved in the mechanical engineering sector, specialising in pipework and steelwork fabrication. The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. The SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.

“Receiving the SafeContactor accreditation was a perfect start to 2022, on the back of an excellent year 2021, having successfully passed various 3rd party audits with flying colours. It’s really satisfying to receive recognition for our high HSEQ standards. This could only be achieved with the hard efforts and positive attitude of all those at Pruce Newman. It’s because of the drive and culture within the organisation that we can aim to continually improve year on year” Gavin Graham, HSEQ Director.
