Pruce Newman’s energetic MD, Graham Newman, is currently half way through a series of four charitable challenges which take place this summer, and half way to meeting his fundraising target. Graham is completing the following events to raise money for five charities which support, or have supported, close friends and family.
- The Southend Half Marathon
- The London to Cambridge 100k Bike Ride
- The Great Newham 2 Mile Open Water Swim
- The AJ Bell London Olympic Triathlon
He completed the second of these events, the London to Cambridge 100k Bike Ride, last weekend, with a time of just under four and a half hours (which included a couple of essential stops en-route). Commenting on his reasons for undertaking these challenges this year, Graham said:
At the start of the year my imminent arrival at the landmark half century birthday, plus noticing my ever-expanding waistline and accelerating progression up the dial of my bathroom scales, made me realise that I needed to set myself a challenge in 2016. I had also been thinking about some very important people in my life, that I’d either lost, or who were being affected by some very serious illnesses and thought that I’d take the opportunity to raise some money for some very worthy causes.
Graham is raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, Breast Cancer Now, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Motor Neurone Disease Association, and Young Minds. You can find out more about the work of these charities and make a donation at Graham’s Virgin Money Giving Page. The next event in the series is the Great Newham 2 Mile Swim which takes place on 16th July.
